Clark County Book Vending Kiosk

Thomas Library is partnering with Clark County Public Library to bring you more access to fun books, games, and DVDs.

About

This project is a partnership between Thomas Library and the Clark County Public Library (CCPL) that supports affordable learning initiatives by expanding access to resources, including books, DVDs, and electronic resources such as Kanopy, LinkedInLearning, and audiobooks.

Visit Thomas Library to borrow a physical item, or click the tab to learn more about CCPL's Online Library.

Using the Vending Kiosk

This kiosk allows you to:

  • Checkout Items
  • Browse Without Card
  • Return Item
  • Pickup Hold

Checkout Items -- Scan your CCPL library card, browse until you find an item you'd like to borrow, then click the Borrow button. The machine will select the item and the door will pop open so you can take your selection.

Browse Without Card -- Allows you to see what's available in the kiosk without a CCPL card. Click "Start over" and select "Checkout Items" to borrow something.

Return Item -- Scan your CCPL card and the door will pop open so you can return any CCPL item.

Pickup Hold -- You can use the CCPL website to request items be delivered here (select "Wittenberg Vend" as location for pickup).

Placing a Hold

If the item you want to borrow isn't available from the vending kiosk, you can place a request through the CCPL website to have the item delivered to the vending kiosk and held for you.

  1. Visit CCPL website and search for the item you want to borrow.
  2. Press the green request button and login using your CCPL login.
  3. Be sure to select WITTENBERG VEND as the location in the "Pick up at" drop down menu (see picture below).
  4. You will be notified via the email you used to sign up for your CCPL card when your request is ready to pickup at the vending kiosk!
