In addition to the newspapers and periodicals we've already looked at, Dr. Dillon recommends finding newsreels, ethnographies and first person accounts. It's possible you may find some of these sources for free on the web. Please evaluate these free resources critically.

Find out:

•  who is responsible for the content and what makes them an authority?
• why they are making the content freely available (to inform, to make money, to get a laugh -- is it satire?
• what bias does the source have?

Our library catalog will have some books and possibly documentaries or films that include first person accounts. The trick is finding the right key term. If you aren't finding anything in the catalog, please contact a librarian to help find key terms to improve your search.
